There may be several possible reasons for the occurrence of pan tilt camera pan tilt faults:

1. Unable to control the gimbal
2. Unable to control the decoder
3. Some functions cannot be implemented
4. The signal indicator light of the code converter is not working

analysis:

1、 The code conversion light does not flash

Software settings (the light is not flashing, mainly because the code converter is not working. Let's start with software settings to solve this problem)
1. Decoder settings in software (decoder protocol, COM port, baud rate, checksum, data bit, stop bit)
2. Replace a COM port (check if the COM port is damaged),
3. After the above settings, the hardware still cannot be used normally. Open the 9-pin to 25 pin converter interface. Check if the wiring is 2-2, 3-3, 5-7. If it is correct, check if the power supply of the code converter is normal (use a multimeter to enter)
Conduct voltage and current tests (9V, 500MA), and if there are no issues, it can be determined that the code converter has been damaged

2、 Unable to control decoder

There is no relay noise in the decoder.
1. Check if the decoder is powered on.
2. Check if the code converter has unplugged the output 485 signal.
3. Check if the decoder protocol is set correctly
4. Check if the baud rate setting matches the decoder (check if the address code setting matches the selected camera) (see the decoder manual for detailed address code extraction table)
5. Check if the wiring between the decoder and the code converter is connected incorrectly (1-485A, 2-B; some decoders are 1-485B, 2-A)
6. Check if the decoder is working properly (if there is a self-test sound when the old decoder is powered on after being powered off for one minute; if there is a voltage change between the UP, DOWN, AUTO ports of the decoder and the PTCOM port when the software controls the pan tilt zoom, the change will be 24VOR220V depending on the decoder, and some decoder ports may have switch signal changes). If there is a voltage change, the decoder is working normally; otherwise, it is a decoder fault
7. Check if the fuse of the decoder has been burnt out.

3、 Unable to control gimbal

1. Check if the sixth item above is normal
2. Is the 24V or 220V power supply port voltage output of the decoder normal
3. Directly UP the gimbal DOWN、 Connect power to the PTCOM cable and check if the gimbal is functioning properly.
4. Check if the power supply interface is connected incorrectly
5. Check if the circuit is connected incorrectly (the old decoder uses UP, DOWN and other lines to directly supply power to the PTCOM, and each line can be directly connected to the camera and PTCOM; some decoders use independent power supply connections.).
